We, the members of the Bertrand Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Unit, protect lives and property through fire suppression, emergency medical response, disaster management, fire prevention and public education.
Our members serve approximately 1500 people in the Phelps-Gosper Fire District #2 and cover 203 square miles. We also provide service through mutual aid to the communities of Loomis, Holdrege, Funk, Overton, Lexington, Arapahoe, Oxford, Elwood, and Smithfield.
