Iron Horse Arts District

At the Iron Horse Arts District, we believe the arts are the heartbeat of a vibrant community. Since our founding, we’ve brought new life to downtown Holdrege with murals, crosswalk art, festoon lighting, pop-up art galleries, and the annual Iron Horse Festival. But as we grow, so does the need for a permanent home—one that can nurture artists, engage residents, and welcome visitors year-round.

Right now, our work happens in borrowed spaces and temporary locations. While we’ve accomplished so much in just under two years, we are limited by not having a true “home base.” Our ideal permanent gallery and arts hub would transform what we can do for Holdrege by:

• Housing rotating and permanent art galleries
• Providing affordable co-op space for local artists
• Creating a home for artist residencies, workshops, and classes
• Establishing a central office for the Arts District
• Serving as a gathering space for community events and cultural programs

Gifts to the Iron Horse Project Arts Station campaign will help us create a lasting cultural anchor for our community.
