PMHC Service League

A nonprofit organization

The Service League volunteers have a heart like no other.  This group provides services and gifts to the hospital and annual scholarships to students.  The PMHC Service League began the year before the hospital opened it's doors in 1968 and has been volunteering services to Phelps Memorial ever since.  There are over 85 members of the Service League of which 15 are considered active members who volunteer on a monthly basis.

The Service League provides many services to the hospital, including volunteers who are staffed at the front desk and the surgery waiting room desk.  These volunteers answer phones, direct traffic and guide patients and family members with warm smiles and caring voices.  In addition, they are a resource to staff providing general office work.

The League hosts several fundraising events including scrubs sales, an annual bake sale and the tour of homes event.

Each year, babies are bundled up in receiving blankets sewn by the Service League and patients have special tray favors on holidays that are made by a Service League member. A committee also decorates the hospital during the holidays.

For the past 51 years. the Service League has gifted two scholarships to college students engaged in healthcare careers.
