South Central Area Recovery

A nonprofit organization

Why does SCAR need your donation?

SCAR is fully supported by donations and small grants. Which means your donation pays for electricity, heat and water to keep our doors open so our programs and occupants can continue to provide support and much needed services.  Donations also support SCAR's mission to help those affected by addiction.

SCAR is excited that some of our main objectives are being fulfilled.

1. SCAR Aid Fund:  SCAR contributed funding and also received a grant from Phelps Memorial Foundation to set up a separate account to provide funding for counseling, treatment center and half-way house downpayment and other related services. Grantees can receive a maximum of $1,500. Seeking rehabilitation is often an urgent and mentally stressful event for the individual and their family.  Lots of individuals are financially impoverished. Your donation could SAVE A LIFE by getting an individual the help they need! In addition to supporting SCAR, you can make a direct donation to the SCAR Aid Fund!

2. Currently, there is a shortage of counselors to provide evaluations for those wanting to enter drug rehabilitation programs.  SCAR is please to provide offices for two area counselors to help with this issue.
